Discover Our Story

At The Highlands Church, we are a family of believers committed to sharing the love of Christ and making a positive impact in our community. Learn more about our mission, values, and the heart behind everything we do.

What We Believe: The Highlands Church is not affiliated with any denomination, but we are basically Baptistic in doctrinal beliefs.  We also know that our beliefs are worthless unless they are translated into action. We must not only talk the talk… we must walk the walk!

What do we believe about Jesus Christ? We believe Jesus is the Son of God and is equal with the Father.  Jesus was born to a virgin, lived a perfect life, and willingly gave His life as a sacrifice for our sins.  He was resurrected from the dead after three days.  He ascended to The Father in heaven and is alive today, seated at the right hand of God.

What do we believe about the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is equal with Jesus and The Father.  He makes people aware of their need for salvation.  At the moment of salvation, He resides in the heart of each believer. He gives believers the ability to understand scripture and guides them to live in a way that is pleasing to The Father.

About US

What do we believe about God.
All people are made in the image of God. They are the crescendo of God’s creation. However, all of us are descendants of Adam, and therefore have a disobedient nature.  Because of our sin nature, without Jesus, humans live in separation from God.

What do we believe about eternity?
People were created to live forever.  We will exist in heaven or hell.  Both are literal places.  Our relationship with Christ, or lack there of, will determine where we spend eternity.

Testimonials

Abbie
My Testimony at The Highlands Church: My husband & I had relocated to Bethel Springs in 2020. People were being told to shelter at home. We started watching services on TV, & stopped attending worship services at our previous church in Mississippi. One Sunday morning in the spring of 2021, I announced to my husband that I was going to find us a church, closer to our home. God brought us to The Highlands. We have felt loved & accepted by the people of this fellowship. We’ve become much closer to the Lord through those 3 years, & have been amazed at how much God has blessed us through the services & Bible studies at The Highlands. He is truly amazing!

Someone invited me to church. I replied "church ain't really my thing." He said "I think you'll like it at the Highlands. Just come check it out." He wasn't a regular church goer so I figured if he liked it, I've got nothing to lose, so I came to the Highlands. Fast forward 16 years later and I've been serving with the worship team for the majority of those 16 years. I'm serving on the leadership team. My wife is in the youth ministry. My daughter serves with me on the worship team. One of my sons serves in the media team. I've seen all four of my kids come to know Jesus and be baptized here. Honored to have been asked to baptize three of them. They've all pretty much been raised here at The Highlands.  My heart for this place is for The Highlands to be to others as it was to me when I really didn’t care to come to begin with. A home.  A welcoming, loving, caring, Jesus Freak residing home. Come as you are and leave changed, home. Ahospital when I’m broken, home.  A homewhere no matter what, you’ll feel welcomed and loved.  Safe to say, I love this church.  Invite someone to church.  You just never know what one invitation couldlead to in someone’s life.

Join us each Sunday

as we come together to lift our hearts, voices, and lives in praise. Come as you are, and let's encounter the presence of God together.
